Men's Soccer Uses 2-0 Victory at Anna Maria to move to 10-1

Paxton, Mass. - The Lasell College men's soccer team used a dominating offensive attack to defeat Anna Maria 2-0 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon. The victory upped Lasell to 10-1 overall and 6-0 in conference play. Anna Maria fell to 2-9-1 on the year and 0-7-1 in the league with the loss.

The Lasers outshot the host AMCats 29-4 on the afternoon, getting goals from Mike Skelton (N. Conway, N.H.) and Ryan Montemurro (Meriden, Conn.) to pick up the result. Aren Moorman (Somerset, N.J.) got his second victory of the season, stopping two shots on the day. Scott Webster (Ocala, Fla.) took the loss in net for Anna Maria while making nine saves.

Skelton tallied his 10th goal of the season in the 15th minute, chipping the keeper on a breakaway to put Lasell ahead 1-0. Montemurro scored in the 27th minute on a ball by Jared Lewis (Haverhill, Mass.) to give Lasell a 2-0 edge. Webster made five saves in the second half to prevent the Lasers from building a bigger margin, but Lasell was able to hold the hosts scoreless on the day to earn the victory.

Lasell will return to their home pitch on Monday October 8th when they host Johnson and Wales University at 3:30pm. Anna Maria will host St. Joseph's College (Me.) on Monday the 8th at 3:30pm.
