Men’s Soccer Earns 4-0 Victory over Rivier to Remain Unbeaten in GNAC Play

Newton, Mass. – The Lasell College men's soccer team used excellent stretches of possession and a big advantage in offensive chances to propel themselves past Rivier University 4-0 in Saturday afternoon's Great Northeast Athletic Conference match. The loss left Rivier at 0-7-1 on the season and 0-4-1 in GNAC play, while Lasell improved to 8-1 overall and 4-0 in conference play.

Conor Fitzgerald Marshfield, Mass.), Mike Skelton Conway, N.H.), Nick Carroll (Meriden, Conn.), and Cedric Dybaud (Abijan, Ivory Coast) each netted goals for Lasell, and Aren Moorman(Somerset, N.J.) picked up the win in goal. Matthew St. Peter (Colchester, Vt.) took the loss for the Raiders, despite making 13 saves on the afternoon, including four spectacular point blank saves to keep his side in the match.

Fitzgerald scored in the 16th minute to give Lasell a 1-0 lead, taking advantage of a ball that bounced to him in the box and finishing it. In the 61st minute Skelton tallied the second goal of the day for the Lasers, when Rivier deflected a service and the ball ended up on Skelton's right foot before being drilled into the back of the net. Nick Carroll made it a 3-0 edge in the 85th minute, notching his first goal of career courtesy of a Brennen Adams (Southbury, Conn.) assist. Dybaud's goal thirty seconds later produced the final 4-0 result.

Rivier will be return to action on October 3rd when they host the Mustangs of Mount Ida College. Lasell travels to Emerson on October 3rd, looking to build on their four match winning streak.
