GNAC Duel Culminates in Draw after Double Overtime

Boston, MA-- Lasell College and Suffolk University men's soccer teams dueled through two overtime periods before a 0-0 draw was declared on Saturday evening in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference face-off.

 

The teams went shot-for-shot, with 16 apiece, over 110 minutes before the stalemate was professed.  The Lasers did have an advantage in shots-on-goal, taking 13 as opposed to the Rams' nine.  Lasell also held a slight edge in corner kick opportunities (7-6). 

 

Laser goalie Matthew Bruninghaus (Plymouth, MA) stopped all nine shots that he was faced with by the Rams, while Ram goal keeper Jack DeJesus (Swampscott, MA) had 12 saves in the contest.  

 

Dan Hatch (Avon, MA) produced the majority of the chances on the Suffolk net for Lasell.  Hatch accounted for five of Lasell's 13 shots-on-goal while Adam Luciano (Fairfield, CT) chipped in with three. 

 

For the Rams, Danny Lloyd (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) took six total shots for Suffolk, three of which were on goal. 

 

Lasell's record stands at 4-4-1 overall and 3-0-1 in the GNAC.  Suffolk has a 5-4-1 slate and a 2-1-1 league record. 

 

Lasell is back in action on Wednesday, October 6th, when they host Clark University at 4:00 on Grellier Field.
