
Newton, Mass.-Kyle Cronin (Weymouth, Mass.) and Dan Hatch (Avon, Mass.) registered two goals apiece en route to a 4-1 victory over Lyndon State College today, on Taylor Field.
Lasell was on the attack for the majority of the minutes, outshooting the visiting Hornets more than double, at 22-8 throughout the entire contest. The Lasers also held a 6-2 edge in corner kicks.
Cronin began the Lasers attack, scoring the first goal of the day at 14:28 into the contest. Cronin's unassisted mark was the sole tally of the first half, as the Lasers went into the break with a 1-0 lead.
Upon returning to the second half, Hatch struck against the Hornet's new goal keeper Jason Gray (East Thetford, VT) within the first two minutes to pad Lasell's advantage. Cronin and Hatch came through with the final goals within ten minutes of that to boost Lasell to a 4-0 edge. Stephen Petrin (Vernon, Conn.) assisted on Cronin's second goal of the day.
Lyndon State's single goal of the contest was scored by Patrice Lummba (Burlington, VT) just over 80 minutes into the matchup, unassisted, to finalize the score at 4-1. Both Gray and Ian Oliver (Westport, Mass.), Lyndon's goalkeeper before the intermissions, collected five saves apeice.
Julian Dutton (Madison, Conn.) came out with his second victory of the season for Lasell, making four saves.
The Lasers are scheduled to make up the postponed match against Suffolk University on Thursday, September 17th at 4:00 p.m. The Lasers will host the Rams on Taylor Field.
