Clark Nets 1-0 Win over Lasell

Worcester, Mass.-Clark University's Greg Jancarik (Swansea, Mass.) scored his first goal of the season to lock in a  1-0 win over visiting Lasell College in non-conference men's soccer action on Wednesday evening.

The goal was scored late in the first period by Jancarik who had just entered as a substitute shortly before the shot.  Senior John Machado (Bristol, Conn.) had the assist on the game's lone goal, setting up Jancarik in the 39th minute.

Just prior to the goal, Lasell had an excellent opportunity of their own to score.  A corner kick resulted in a shot that was blocked by Clark's keeper Ryan King (Brimfield, Mass.) upon which the rebound bounced to Paul Meucci (Vernon, Conn.) who fired a shot that ricocheted off the crossbar.

Lasell's goalkeeper Matthew Bruninghaus (Plymouth, Mass.) turned away seven shots for Lasell during the course of the contest.   Meucci was able to attempt five shots on the Cougars while Kyle Cronin (Weymouth, Mass.) had two more for Lasell.

After the evenings contest, the Lasers overall record rests at 5-3-2. Lasell will return to GNAC action on Saturday when they travel to Rivier College for their next matchup, which is slated to start at noon.
