Monks Fall to Lasell College, 1-0

Lasell College (1-3, 1-0 GNAC) defeated GNAC challenger Saint Joseph's College (0-3-1, 0-1) 1-0 on Saturday afternoon, in Standish, Maine.

Both teams remained scoreless in the first half, though St. Joseph's produced 9 shots on goal, as compared to Lasell's five.  The Lasers picked it up in the second half though as they out shot the Monks 7-5. 

Lasers freshman Kyle Cronin (Weymouth, MA) scored the only goal of the contest in the 51st minute to help Lasell secure the conference victory. Cronin was assisted by Paul Meucci (Vernon, CT), a junior defender. Monks goalkeeper Will Pike ‘10 (Gorham, ME) made seven stops in the conference loss, while Lasell's Julian Dutton (Madison, CT) recorded five saves in the shut out.

The Lasers now have a record of 1-3, as well as 1-0 in the GNAC. 

Following two weeks of away contests, the Lasell men's soccer team will open up at home on Wednesday, September 17th, when they take on Clark University. Game time is 4:00 p.m., on Taylor Field.
