New London, NH - The Lasell men's basketball team also took the trip Tuesday to New Hampshire to matchup with Colby-Sawyer College in a GNAC matchup.
In a similar fashion to the women's game that preceded, Colby-Sawyer opened the scoring of the game. After the Chargers had opened the scoring though, the Lasers took over as they went on a lengthy 20-4 run over the next 8 minutes. Karim Belhouchet continued his hot hand scoring in this one as during the Laser run he scored 11 of 20 points, helping to open up a 14-point lead early. In a dominant first half, the Lasers had a well-balanced scoring effort from the starters, who ended up combining for 65 of the 84 total points on the evening. After the 20-6 stint to bring the lead to 14, the remainder of the half still saw the Lasers outscore the Chargers 24-17 which brought the game to a halftime score of 44-23. Going into the second half, the Lasers kept control of the pace and brought the lead to as high as 27 on a few occasions. Given the size of the advantage, the game was never in doubt as they cruised to a final score of 84-68.
Four out of 5 starters scored in double figures with Esmer Madesko leading the way with 18. Karim Belhouchet (16), Andy Madesko (12), and Marcus Lewis (11) were the other starters in double-digits. Andy Madesko flirted with a triple-double once again as he poured in 12 rebounds and 8 assists along with 3 steals. Chaz Cullum for the Chargers posted 20 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists, and 5 steals to lead them in each of those categories.
