Plymouth, NH - Lasell men's basketball took to New Hampshire on Thursday night to square off against the Panthers of Plymouth State.
Both teams came into the contest undefeated thus far in the 2024 campaign in a matchup that promised to provide some good out of conference competition. In the opnening minutes the teams exchanged a pair of threes from Plymouth State's Ivan Yen and then the Lasers' Marcus Lewis. From this point on unfortunately, the Lasers would fall behind as the Panthers went on a 16-4 run to push the game to a 12 point lead (19-7). The Lasers would respond however, clawing back into it, making it a two point game (26-24) at the 6:08 mark in the first half. As the first half came to a close the Lasers trailed by a score of 43-35. Looking to make a run in the second half, they had chances to cut into the lead but the Panthers did a good job of hitting timely shots and fending off the Lasers runs. The Lasers tried to chip away at the lead was a little too late as they ended up falling with a final score of 76-66, suffering their first loss on the year.
Esmer (22) and Andy (20) Madekso carried the scoring load in this one as they combined for 42 of the 62 Lasell points. Marcus Lewis also had a double digit scoring night totaling 11 points and also had a game high 8 rebounds.
Up Next - Lasell goes to Fitchburg State on Saturday for their last game prior to the Thanksgiving break.
