MBB: Lasell Winning Streak Snapped at Eight

Standish, ME - The Lasell Men's Basketball team fell to the Saint Joseph's (ME) Monks on Saturday by a final score of 76-66, ending the Laser's eight game winning streak. With the Losee the Lasers are now 15-7 overall and 9-2 in GNAC play, while the Monks are 12-9 and 8-2.

It was back and forth over the first 13 minutes, with both teams holding leads. But the Monks used an 8-0 run to grab control, and a 10 point lead. they would head into halftime up 41-31. The Lasers started off the second half hot, opening on a 10-2 run to get within two. But a timely 10-0 run by the Monks would give them back the momentum, and the Lasers would not get closer than nine the rest of the way, falling 76-66.

The Lasers were led by Marcus Lewis' 16 points, with Che hanks (15) and Demerrick Warren (11) right behind him. Andy Madesko finished with nine. Both Lewis and Cameron Foster-Martez each had three steals. For Foster-Martez, it marked the fifth straight game with 3+ steals, and the seventh time on the season. Warren also led the team with six rebounds.

Up Next - The Lasers will head up to Norwich next Saturday for a 1pm start.
