MBB: Lasers Tripped Up by Wheaton

Norton, MA - The Lasell Men's Basketball team fell to the Wheaton Lyons on Tuesday by a final score of 70-55. With the loss the Lasers drop to 3-3 on the season while the Lyons are now 4-2.

The Lyons would slowly build a lead throughout the first ten minutes of the game, inching ahead 16-8. After a few minutes of the two teams going back and forth, the Lyons grabbed 13 point lead with three minutes left in the half. But a 7-0 run, with all seven points being scored by Marcus Lewis, got the Lasers back in the game. They would trail 28-22 at the break.

The Lasers would get as close as two early in the second half, but were never able to tie things up. The Lyons slowly built up their lead throughout the second half, taking one as big as 19. They would ultimately win 70-55.

The lone double-digit scorer for the Lasers was the reigning GNAC player of the week, Marcus Lewis. He scored 16 points. Greg Farrow scored nine. Making his first start of the season, Gabe Qua grabbed a team high eight rebounds.

Up Next - The Lasers will next play on Thursday when they host Plymouth State at 7pm.
