MBB: Strong Second Half Pushes Lasers Past Fitchburg

Newton, MA – Playing in their first home game of the season, Lasell's Men's basketball team defeated Fitchburg State 73-57. The Lasers are now 1-1, while the Falcons are 0-2.

It was the Marcus Lewis show early, as the junior scored the Lasers' first seven points. The two teams would go back and forth all half, with the Lasers scoring the last four points to take a 27-23 lead at the break.

The two teams would trade blows throughout the first 10 minutes of the second half. But a turning point came with nine minutes remaining when Andy Madesko and Conan McCusker hit consecutive threes to put the Lasers up 12. The lead would grow to as many as 16, with the Lasers taking home a 73-57 win.

The Lasers had four double-digit scorers, led by Andy Madesko with 18 off the bench.Behind him were Quinton Partee Jr. (15), Marcus Lewis (13), and Conan McCusker (10). Madesko also led the way on the boards, grabbing 11 rebounds and four assists. This was Madesko's second career game, and first double-double.
