MBB: Lasers Fall to GNAC Foe Dean

Franklin, MA - The Lasell Lasers fell to the Dean College Bulldogs by a final score of 74-65. The loss drops the Lasers to 7-11 overall, and 4-7 in confernce play. The Bulldogs are now 13-6 and 8-4.

A back and forth game from the start, neither team led by more than three points until over 12 minutes into the game. The Dulldugs used a mini 5-0 run to take a seven point lead, which they briefly extended to eight at one point. But the Lasers would close the gap to within four at halftime.

The Lasers were able to tie things up early in the second half, but a 12-0 run by Dean put them up 48-36, and in control. Lasell would then go on a 10-2 run to get back in reach at 50-46 with 10 minutes remaining in the game. It was at this point that EJ Day took over for the Lasers. Over a three minute stretch Day scored 10 consecutive points for Lasell, and brought the Lasers to within just one point with the score 58-57 with six minutes remaining. But the Bulldugs would respond with a 7-0 run to go up by eight with three and a half minutes to go. The Lasers would get to within four, but were unable to get any closer the rest of the way.

The Lasers were led by EJ Day's 32 points on 11-25 shooting. This is the sixth time this season that Day has eclipsed the 30 point barrier. Quinton Partee Jr. finished with a double-double after scoring 13 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. Marcus Lewis scored seven points off the bench.
