MBB: Lasers Win Second in a Row

Quincy, MA - The Lasell Lasers defeater the Eastern Nazarene Lions on Tuesday night by a score of 82-62. The win is the Lasers second in a row, and brings their record to 2-1 on the season. The Lions are also now 2-1.

The first half was back and forth for the first 13 minutes, as the two teams sat tied at 21. The Lasers would then use a 9-0 run to take the lead. The Lions would use a 5-0 run at the end of the half to get within four at the break. The star of the first half was Demerrick Warren, who was making his season debut. He went 4-4 from the floor, including 3-3 from three. He led the Lasers with 13 points in the half.

While the first half was a close affair, the second half was all Lasers. Over a six minute span, the Lasers went on a 22-8 run to take full control of the game. A big part of this run was the reigning GNAC Player of the Week, EJ Day. Day was responsible for 13 of the 22 points by way of scoring or assisting. Day would score 19 points in the second half. The Lasers would coast the rest of the way, and ultimately take the win 82-62.

It was a two headed attack on offense for the Lasers, as Warren finished with 22 points, on 7-10 shooting, including 6-9 from deep, and Day finished with 27 points. He ended up two assists shy of a triple double, as he added 10 rebounds and eight assists, both leading the team. Also scoring in double digits was Conan McCusker with 11 off the bench.

Up Next - The Lasers will next play on Saturday, November 19th as they host Brandeis in the Athletic Center. That game is scheduled to tipoff at 3pm.
