Men's Basketball Duo Earns GNAC 2nd Team Honors

The Great Northeast Athletic Conference released its 2012 men's basketball All-Conference awards, naming a pair of Lasers to the second team. Senior Javon Williams (Mattapan, MA) and junior Sean Bertanza (Seymour, CT) were selected to the all-conference team for their outastanding performances this season. The duo of Williams and Bertanza helped lead Lasell to a tie for third place in the regular season and an appearance in the GNAC semifinals.

Williams finished the season ranked fifth in the GNAC in scoring at 19.2 points per game in GNAC contests while also finishing fourth in the league in rebounding at 8.4 boards per game. He shot a conference best 61.3% from the field, while finishing fourth in the league in blocked shots and minutes played. Williams surpassed the 1,500 career point mark this season, placing him second on the school's all-time scoring list.

Bertanza ended his junior campaign third in the GNAC in scoring, posting an average of 22.0 points per game in league contests. Bertanza also reached the 1,000 career point milestone in the Lasers regular season finale at Norwich University. He broke the 30 point mark twice during conference play, and scored 20 or more points on seven other occasions.
