FH: Lasell earns NFHCA National Academic Team Award

NEWTON, Mass. – The Lasell University field hockey team was honored by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) on Thursday for its outstanding work in the classroom as the organization announced recipients of the 2019 Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III National Academic Team Award.

Lasell was one of 147 programs nationwide to receive the honor. The Division III National Academic Team Award recognizes programs that earned a team grade point average of 3.00 or higher during the fall semester of the 2019-20 school year.

Lasell was one of the seven schools in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) to receive the honor, along with Albertus Magnus College, Colby-Sawyer College, Johnson & Wales University, Regis College, Saint Joseph's College of Maine, and Simmons University.

The Lasers, led by 10th-year head coach Cait Connolly, finished with a 10-10 overall record in 2019, with a 5-3 mark against GNAC schools.
