FH: Sam Taylor selected to play in prestigious Division III Senior Game

NEWTON, Mass. – The leading scorer on the Lasell University field hockey team has been selected to play in the prestigious Division III Senior game, as announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA). 

Senior Sam Taylor (Hanover, Mass.) was selected to play in the Victory Sports Tours/NFHCA Division III Senior Game on Saturday, November 23, in conjunction with the NCAA Division III Field Hockey Championship in Manheim, Pennsylvania. The Senior Game is currently projected for 5:00 p.m. EST at the Spooky Nook Sports Complex following the completion of the NCAA semifinal games. 

A senior forward, Taylor is enjoying another outstanding season to cap off a terrific career in a Laser uniform. She currently leads the team in scoring with 12 goals, six assists and 30 points, and her totals rank her second in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) in points, third in goals and fifth in assists. Taylor was named GNAC Player of the Week on October 7. 

Taylor is also making her mark on the Lasell career record book. She ranks second all-time in program history with 59 goals, 36 assists and 154 points, and she owns the record with 15 game-winning goals. 

Lasell has two games remaining in the regular season, this Saturday, October 26, at Rivier University and next Wednesday, October 30, at home against Simmons University. The GNAC playoffs begin on Saturday, November 2, with the championship game slated for Saturday, November 9.
