FH: Two Lasell athletes recognized by GNAC; Rodriguez and Lennon earn weekly honors

NEWTON, Mass. – Two Lasell University student-athletes have been recognized by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) on Monday for their success on the field this past week.

Sophomore Sofia Rodriguez (Peabody, Mass.) was named GNAC Field Hockey Goalkeeper of the week and freshman Kensie Lennon (Jamestown, R.I.) was named GNAC Field Hockey Rookie of the Week.

Rodriguez posted a 2-0 record with a 0.97 goals against average and a .778 save percentage with seven saves. She made three saves in a 3-2 non-conference overtime victory over Clark University on Tuesday, and she turned away four shots for her first career shutout on Saturday in a 1-0 GNAC triumph over Regis College.

Lennon scored one game-winning goal in a 2-0 week for the Lasers. She scored the overtime game-winner in a 3-2 non-conference overtime victory over Clark University on Tuesday.

Both athletes look to continue their success when their team squares off with New England College on Thursday, October 17 at 7 p.m.
