Taylor Earns GNAC Field Hockey Player of the Week

NEWTON, Mass. – A senior on the Lasell University field hockey earned Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) honors Monday as she dominated the week for the Lasers.

Senior Sam Taylor (Hanover, Mass./Hanover) grabs her first Player of the Week for the year as she continued to play well while leading her team to a 1-1 week.

Taylor collected three goals and one assist in a pair of Laser games (1-1, 1-0 GNAC). She scored both of Lasell's goals Wednesday in a 3-2 non-conference loss to Roger Williams, and she tallied one goal and one assist in Saturday's 5-3 GNAC victory over Johnson & Wales. She assisted on the first goal of the game to put Lasell up 1-2 in the second quarter, and she scored the final goal to seal the victory with 2:30 remaining in the game.

The senior forward is ranked third in the GNAC in goals scored (8) and total points (20).

The Lasers return home Tuesday, October 8 for a non-conference match against Clark University at 3:30 p.m. at Grellier Field.
