Waltham, MA - The Lasell University baseball team was the away team at Brandeis' Stein Diamond facing the Judges for a non-conference matchup. Scott Lyon hit his third homerun in four games which helped to prove the Lasers victorious 8-2.
The early innings saw the Lasers collect an early lead as they scored in each of the first three innings. In the top of the first, the Lasers were able to work multiple walks and got two runs across, but left the bases loaded. A Tim Callahan sacrifice fly scored the lone run in the second inning. Then in the third, Scott Lyon continued his hot streak as he sent a 3-run shot over the fence to put the Lasers up 6-0. Brandeis got on the board in the fourth and fifth innings with two RBI doubles but the Lasers limited them from here on out and didn't allow them to score again, eventually taking the 8-2 win.
Graduate student Scott Lyon continued his ten-game hit streak in grand fashion notching another home run on the year. He is now batting .379 and has driven in a team-high 20 RBIs. CJ Mills also had a 4-for-5 performance scoring a run as well as generating an RBI. Senior Jeremy Blackwood gained his second win on the mound for the Lasers going 6 innings and allowing only 2 earned runs.
