BSB: Three Lasers Named to CSC All Academic Team

Newton, MA - The College Sports Communicators announced their 2022-2023 Academic All-District teams this week, and the Lasell University Baseball team had three members honored.

The 2022-23 Academic All-District® Baseball and Softball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes baseball and softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Nominees must maintain a 3.5 GPA and participate in at least 50% of their team's games.

The three Lasers honored were Tim Coakley, Bryan Baumann, and Matthew Bischof

Coakley, a junior pitcher from Acton, MA, appeared in 13 games for the Laser, and struck out 20 batters over 18.1 innings. Baumann, a junior from Deerfield, MA played in 36 games and hit .344. His 27 RBI was third on the team while his 12 doubles ranked second. He was named to the GNAC All-Conference Second team, Bischof, a graduate student from Sleepy Hollow, NY, wrapped up his historic career with a program 17 career homers. His 38 RBI on the season ranked fifth in the conference, while his career total of 99 RBI rank second in program history. He was also named to the GNAC All-Conference Second team.
