Baseball: Matthew Bischof garners GNAC Player of the Week laurels

WINTHROP, Mass. - After going 9-of-17 batting and compiling six runs, five RBIs, three doubles and one home run, during a 4-2 week for the Lasell University baseball team, senior Matthew Bischof was named Great Northeast Athletic Conference Player of the Week Monday.

This marks the second weekly GNAC award of Bischof's Laser career, as he was named Rookie of the Week once during the 2019 season. Lasell is off to a quick start this season in the GNAC with a 5-1 record.

Bischof went 4 for 4 in the batter's box, including two RBIs, two doubles and two runs, during an 11-3 triumph in the first game of a doubleheader against Elms Tuesday at Brandeis University's Stein Diamond. During an 18-5 triumph in Game 2, the Sleepy Hollow, New York, native finished 2 of 2 and reached base three times, featuring three runs, two RBIs, one home run and one double.

Bischof also recorded a multi-hit effort, posting a 2-of-3 performance, during a 6-4 victory in the second game of a doubleheader against Colby-Sawyer Saturday in New London, New Hampshire.
