Game Two

Dustin Brown (Falmouth, Mass.) and Jackson Gervais (Rehoboth, Mass.) both recorded doubles in the game for Lasell. Greg Sherman (Marshfield, Mass.) was the tough luck loser on the mound for the Lasers. He went six innings only allowing five hits and two runs while punching out five hitters in the game.

Junior Steve Chamberland (Bristol, Conn.) was strong on the mound for Suffolk as he picked up a no-decision. The junior southpaw struck out six hitters in 5 1/3 innings of work before giving way to the bullpen as he worked his way out of a couple jams in the middle of the game. Junior Frank Tierney (Hyde Park, Mass.) struck out a pair in 1 2/3 innings of relief as he earned the victory, his third of the season.

Devan Jones sent Suffolk to a 15-3 record in the nightcap as he hit a walk-off single off the left field fence with the bases loaded and outfield drawn in with no outs to clinch the doubleheader sweep.

With the score tied 1-1 in the bottom of the seventh junior Mike Muse (Milton, Mass.) led the inning off with a single. Junior Jack Sullivan (Hamilton, N.Y.) then laid down a sacrifice bunt to try to advance Muse to scoring position, but the Lasers' misplayed the bunt in the infield. After a passed ball, the Lasers would intentionally walk sophomore Justin Knight (Great Meadows, N.J.) to set up the force at any base bringing Jones to the plate.

Mac Jacobson would plate the game's first run in the bottom of the fifth with a sacrifice fly as Suffolk built a short 1-0 lead. Sullivan got the inning started for Suffolk with a single to leftfield before Knight followed him with a single. A walk to Jones would load the bases setting up Jacobson for the RBI opportunity.

The Lasers would answer in their next at-bat as sophomore Matt Sammarco (New Cannaan, Conn.) singled up the middle with two outs to plate Uberti, who led off the inning reaching on an infield error.

Lasell will be back in action on Friday afternoon with a single non-conference game against Newbury College at 7:00pm. Suffolk has will host Norwich University on Saturday afternoon at noon, before travelling to Rivier University for a 1:00pm start on Sunday.
