Stickley and Taylor Named GNAC Goalkeeper and Player of the Week

The 2011 GNAC Women’s Soccer Tournament Co-MVPs also earned weekly honors from the GNAC this week.  Jessica Taylor (Standish, ME) and Elizabeth Stickley (Mashpee, MA) were named this week’s Player of the Week and Goalkeeper of the Week after outstanding play during the 2011 GNAC Tournament.

In the semi-finals on Wednesday, Taylor had one goal and one assist in the Lasers’ 4-0 victory over St. Joseph’s CT and on Saturday, she scored the game-winning goal against Suffolk University at 59:36 to give Lasell their second consecutive GNAC title. 

Elizabeth Stickley (Mashpee, MA) recorded a shut-out in the semi-final game, making two saves in the 4-0 win.  On Saturday, she made seven saves to clinch her second championship, and her second co-MVP honor. 

The women are headed to Middlebury on Saturday for the first round of the NCAA Tournament.  Game time is 11:00 a.m.
