Essie Plouffe enters her second season as an Assistant Coach for the Lasell University softball team in 2022.
During the 2021 season, she helped guide the team to eight straight wins at the beginning of the season, the best start in school history. The unit earned the program's second playoff appearance since 2011.
Three Lasers earned GNAC All-Conference honors in 2021. Ally Kirck was named to the second team and Katie Hopkins and Eryn Sheeley were recognized on the third team. This marked the first time that the Lasell softball team received an All-Conference honor since 2016 and the most in one season since 2010.
Plouffe was a four-year student-athlete in the outfield and infield for the Lasers. She walked-on her freshman year during the 2017 season. Plouffe is a 2020 graduate of Lasell and served as a senior captain for the softball program.
She compiled 21 hits, 15 walks, 12 RBIs, six runs, four doubles and two stolen bases from 2017-20.
She works as a Social Media Manager for a publication in her hometown.
