Women's Volleyball Earns #6 Seed in GNAC Tournament; Will Face Johnson and Wales

NEWTON, Mass. (10/4/13) - The Lasell College women's volleyball team will travel to Johnson and Wales University for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference quarterfinal match-up against the Wildcats. The Lasers finished the regualr season with 17-15 record overall and a 7-4 record in GNAC play, finishing tied for fourth with St. Jsoeph's of Maine and Simmons but falling to the sixth seed in the conference tournament because of tie breakers.

Lasell lost to Johnson and Wales in five sets when they met back on September 28th  in a GNAC trimatch at Emmanuel COllege. The Lasers led 1-0 and 2-1 before seeing JWU tie the match at 2-2 and the pull out a 17-15 victory in the fifth set.

The 17 wins is the highest total for the women's volleyball program since the 2006 season when they finished 20-14 and advanced to the North Atlantic Conference semifinals and the trip to the conference tournament is the seventh consecutive season the program has qualified for the GNAC tournament.
