Pikeville Stops Lasell, 9-1 in Softball Action

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (3/18/14) – The Lasell College softball team dropped a 9-1 result to Pikeville University in the fourth game of their southern swing to drop to 2-2 for the trip.

Nicole LeBlanc singled twice for Lasell and Emily Noll doubled and scored a run as the Lasers bats were unable to solve the Pikeville pitching. Eileen Bergin took the loss for Lasell, allowing nine runs, six earned in four and two-third innings.

Pikeville scored seven runs in the bottom of the second inning on six hits and a pair of Lasell errors to build their early lead. Lasell got one run back in the top half of the third inning when Noll doubled with one out before coming in to score on a ground out by Courtney Noll.

Pikeville held Lasell scoreless in their next two at-bats and tacked on two runs in the bottom of the fifth to close out the 9-1 victory.
