The 2011 GNAC Softball Playoff pairings are now available. The Emerson College Lions will clinch the top seed in the playoffs with an astonishing conference record of 22-2, and overall record of 26-10. The Lions played an incredible regular season, earning two critical one run games over conference rival St. Joseph's ME in the first double-header of the season.
St. Joseph's Maine (21-3, 31-7) earned a close second place finish with already a 30 win season under their belt. Simmons (19-5, 23-13) earned a third place finish and St. Joseph's Connecticut (16-8, 20-16) took fourth place. Rounding out the final four playoff spots is #5 Rivier (14-10, 22-12), #6 Johnson & Wales (12-12, 18-21), #7 Lasell (11-13, 11-27) and #8 Pine Manor (10-14, 10-21).
The GNAC tournament will be an eight team tournament bracket with the First Round beginning Wednesday, April 27th at #5 Rivier and #6 Johnson & Wales, with Emerson, St. Joseph's ME, Simmons and St. Joseph's CT receiving byes.
