Rivier Cruises to Doubleheader Victory Past Lasell

Nashua, NH-  Rivier College snuck away with two GNAC wins over Lasell College in softball action on Friday.  The Raiders took game one 8-2 and shut the Lasers out 5-0 in game two.

Rivier went ahead 2-0 in the bottom of the second when Ryan homered followed by four more Raider base hits.  White's single brought Mellen around to score the second run of the day.

In the fourth inning, Rivier pushed even further away from the Lasers with a five run inning.  Bondanza earned the RBI when she singled and then Campbell brought four runs in with a grand slam.

Lasell put themselves on the board in the early part of the fifth when Kelly Silvia (Oaks Bluffs, Mass.) scored as the Raiders attempted to get an out at first.

Jackie Saluti (Braintree, Mass.) had a sac fly to right field in the seventh to bring Kirsten Mammola (North Reading, Mass.) around the bags to end the game 8-2.

Game two did not get much better for the visitors as they gave up a run in each of the first five innings and remained scoreless throughout.

The Lasers got two hits from Saluti and one apiece from Michelle Torres (Waltham, Mass.), Ashley Laramie (Lynn, Mass.), and Mammola.  Jackie Loseff (Point Pleasant, NJ) struck out four on the mound through the seven innings.

Lasell returns home to host Albertus Magnus on Monday, April 13th at 3:00 p.m. for a GNAC doubleheader.
