The Laser's softball team ended their trip in Florida going 5-5, their best showing ever.  They finished the week by winning two of their last four games. 

The Lasers started off by beating St. Lawrence 5-1, with Jackie Loseff (Point Pleasant, NJ) pitching 6 innings, giving up 1 run on 3 hits and striking out 6 additional opposing players.  Lasell's offense was lead by Tiffany Perla (Westminster, Mass.) and Kelly Silvia (Oaks Bluff, Mass.) who both went 2 for 3.  Perla also scored 2 runs and had an RBI, while freshman Jacqueline Saluti (Braintree, Mass.) had 2 runs batted in.

Lasell then dropped their next game to Western New England College 5-3.  Silvia pitched the complete game and only gave up 2 earned runs and walked only one batter.  Heather Lynch (Warwick, RI) was the bright spot on the offensive end going 2 for 2 and scoring a one.  Kelly Barden (Quincy, Mass.), Kerrie Starkey (Keene, NH), and Saluti each drove in a run.

The Laser's proved too be to strong in their next contest against Roger Williams, winning 5-0.  Kristen Mammola (North Reading, Mass.) pitched a beauty of a game, giving up no runs, 4 hits and 1 walk.  Michelle Torres (Waltham, Mass.) lead a pretty balanced offensive attacking going 2 for 2 with 2 RBI's and Lynch went 2 for 3 with a run batted in and a run scored.  Saluti continued playing well going 1 for 2 at the plate and recording 11 put outs in the field.

Lasell's final game was a tough one, losing 5-4 in 8 innings against Bowdoin College.  Lasell had a comfortable 4-2 leading going into the last inning, but the Polar Bears came back to steal the win the final inning.  Jennie Beaton (Reading, Mass.) pitched a solid game going six innings and gave up 3 runs on only 4 hits.  Heather Rose (West Roxbury, Mass.) had a strong plate performance going 2 for 4 with an RBI and run scored.  Saluti had another run batted in and Tricia Culver (Northampton, Mass.) and Ashley Laramie (Lynn, Mass.) also pitched in with a RBI apiece.
