DORCHESTER, MA- In the 17th annual running of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Cross Country Championship, Johnson & Wales repeated to capture the men’s title on Saturday, October 29th at Franklin Park. Lasell College claimed sixth place as a team with freshman Kyle Northrop (Bellingham, MA) pacing the team with an 11th place finish out of a field of 100.

Standish ME- Senior Raymon Donis (Raynham, MA) finished in the top 20 at the Running Monks Invitational, coming in 19th place to lead Lasell College men’s cross country team at St. Joseph’s College of Maine on Saturday afternoon. Lasell finished in 6th place (165 points) overall as a team while the host Monks finished 5th with 138 total points. Earning the number one spot with only 29 points was fellow Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) contender Johnson and Wales University.
WENHAM, MA-- Freshman Kyle Northrop (Bellingham, MA) paced the Lasell College men’s cross country team by concluding the Pop Crowell Invitational in 56th place individually, to steer the Lasers to a 16th place team finish. The annual race was hosted by Gordon College and featured 224 male runners on the 8K course. Northrop ended the race in 29 minutes and 38 seconds.
CHICOPEE, MA- At the Elms College Blazer Invitational on Saturday, Lasell College men’s cross country finished 5th as a team, behind lead Laser runner Kyle Northrop (Bellingham, MA) who took a 21st place individual finish on the course.
North Dartmouth, MA—First year runner Kyle Northrop (Bellingham, MA) finished the UMass Dartmouth Shriners Men’s Cross Country Invitational 8K race in 28:52.69 to lead the pack for Lasell College on Saturday.
NEWTON, MA—In the first week of competition for the 2011 Fall season, four Lasell College athletes received weekly honors from the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) for their standout performances.
The three-time, consecutive GNAC Champion, Johnson & Wales University, earned a top rank in this year’s men’s cross country pre-season poll. JWU picked up the lead spot in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference coaches’ poll. Emmanuel, last year’s GNAC championship runner-up took a second place finish, and Norwich earned a third place finish in coaches’ poll. This year’s GNAC Championship will take place on October 29, 2011 at Franklin Park in Boston and will be hosted by Emmanuel and Emerson College.
Keene, NH-- The Lasell College men’s cross country team faced tough, cross-divisional competition on Saturday morning at the Keene State College Alumni Invitational to strike up the 2011 campaign.
Lasell College’s men’s cross country team has an exciting year ahead of them in 2011. After a 6th place finish as a team in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship in 2010 and losing just one senior to graduation, the Lasers have a wealth of veteran experience to lead the program this year.
