Paxton, MA - The Lasell Lasers started their GNAC season with a 2-1 win over Anna Maria on Tuesday, moving their overall record to 1-1 on the season while the AMCATS are now 0-3.

After a scoreless first half, the Lasers struck first when Ryan Klopchin collected a loose ball in front of the net and rifled it home into the back of the net in the 57th minute. That 1-0 lead would hold until the 80th minute when the AMCATS tied things up. But the Lasers were not content with a draw, as Klopchin took a failed clear attempt by the Anna Maria defender and shot it straight into the net in the 84th minute. The AMCATS had two shot attempts on net over the final six minutes, but goalie Antonio Centracchio stopped both of them, including a header at the last second.

The Lasers were outshot 18-13, but had the edge of on goal shots 8-7. Klopchin put all three of his shots on goal, with two of them finding paydirt. Centracchio made six saves on seven shots to pick up the win.

Up Next - The Lasers will travel to Emmanuel on Saturday for a 12pm start.
