MSOC: Lasers fall short on the road to UMaine-Farmington

Farmington, Maine - The Lasell Men's Soccer team fell short 2-1 in a non-conference contest to the Beavers of the University of Maine in Farmington.

 

How it happened: The Beavers got on the board first in the first half when Coleman Watson netted in a goal at the 38 minute mark to put UMF up 1-0 to close out the first half. Then, in the 57th minute, Aric Belanger scored the second goal for the Beavers to go up 2-0. Five minutes later, a goal from Daniel Faynstein assisted by Kyle Stewart, cut the deficit for the Lasers 2-1. Lasell tried to get one more chance to tie the game up but fell short to UMaine-Farmington by a score of 2-1.

 

Key Stats: 

  • Lasell led the game in shot attempts (18-13) and corner kicks (8-3).
  • Daniel Faynstein netted his 12th goal of the season.

 

The Lasers fall to 4-9-3 on the year and will be back in action on Saturday afternoon at Taylor Field when they host Colby-Sawyer in a critical GNAC matchup. Meanwhile, the Beavers improve to 7-5-2 and will travel to Waterville, Maine to face Thomas College in a NAC matchup.
