MSOC: Lasell comes up short at Nichols; Jones scores goal for Lasers

DUDLEY, Mass. – The Lasell University men's soccer team dropped a non-conference game at Nichols College Tuesday afternoon, 3-1, on Vendetti Field.

The Bison (8-4-1) were led by senior Jonathan Ingram who picked up his first two goals of his senior season and an assist. Senior Jacob Sargent opened the scoring in the 11th minute. The Lasers (1-12-0) held the Bison to just the one goal in the first half despite being outshot 11-1 in the half.

The Bison added two more goals in the second half, courtesy of Ingram, one in the 54th minute and another in the 71st minute.

Lasell broke into the scoring column late with a goal from junior Jalen Jones (Randolph, Mass.) in the 76th minute.

The Bison outshot the Lasers 21-7 in the match. Senior Jackson Burhans (Berlin, N.Y.) returned from injury and held down the goal for Lasell, finishing with six saves.

Lasell will play another non-conference road game on Thursday, October 10, with a visit to Salve Regina University. The game time has changed and will now begin at 7:30 p.m.
