MSOC: Lasell blanked by Albertus Magnus in GNAC meeting

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – It was another difficult afternoon for the Lasell University men's soccer team as the Lasell went down to defeat at Albertus Magnus College, 4-0, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) contest at Celentano Field.

The Falcons scored twice in a two-minute span in the opening 10 minutes of the game, and put the game away in the second half on a pair of goals by junior Salah Oumorou (West Haven, Conn.). Albertus is now 5-3-1 overall and 2-1 in the GNAC, while Lasell drops to 1-9 and 0-3.

Albertus finished with a 15-9 advantage in shots, and a 7-2 margin in corner kicks. Juniors Simon Nigro (Simsbury, Conn.) and Takuya Tsuji (Japan) had two shots each for Lasell.

Sophomore Zack Laware (Wilbraham, Mass.) held down the Laser goal and made two saves. Freshman Garfield Robinson (West Haven, Conn.) made five saves for the Falcons to post the whitewash.

The Lasers return to action on Wednesday, October 2, with a GNAC game at Johnson & Wales University at 4 p.m. Albertus is also in action on Wednesday, hosting Sage College in non-conference action at 7 p.m.
