Latsha Scores Double OT Game Winner at Rivier

NASHUA, N.H. (10/4/17) – Matt Latsha (Litchfield, N.H.) was the double overtime hero on Wednesday evening, scoring the game-winner in the 104th minute to lift men's soccer over Rivier, 1-0. The win improves Lasell to 2-3 in the GNAC and 3-9 overall, while the Raiders drop to 0-2-1 in league play and 2-6-1 this season.

After 90 minutes of scoreless soccer, Lasell held an 18-6 advantage in shots before the start of the first overtime period. Strong performances from both keepers forced the double overtime segment, as Matteo Cugno (Medford, Mass.) stopped two shots faced in net in the first extra frame. Counterpart Colin Deyarmin saved Lasell's one shot on net by Latsha, but Latsha avenged his bid just four minutes into the second overtime.

The game-winner, Latsha's second of the season, came off the foot of junior Connor Wall (East Hampton, Conn.), who recorded his third assist on the year.

Cugno registered seven saves in the first clean sheet of his career, and first win of the season.  Deyarmin made nine saves for the Raiders.

Lasell returns to GNAC action on Saturday, October 7 with a road test against Albertus Magnus College for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff.
