Rams Blank Men's Soccer 3-0

BOSTON – The Lasell men's soccer team fell to Suffolk University on Saturday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action, 3-0, at James A. Sartori Stadium at East Boston Memorial Park.

The Lasers drop to 1-8 overall and 0-4 in conference play, while the Rams snap a two-game skid at 4-5 this season and 2-1 in the GNAC.

Suffolk's Christian Restrepo scored less than four minutes into the game to give Suffolk an early 1-0 edge. Lasell attempted to clear the ball out of their defensive zone, but turned it right over to Restrepo for the score. The freshman forward capitalized on a one-on-one opportunity with Jackson Burhans (Berlin, N.Y.) scoring his first collegiate goal at 3:28.

On a rain-soaked field, neither team was able to find the back of the net again as they both headed into the locker room.  Suffolk's Aaron Haggas kept his and Suffolk's PK percentage at 100 when he faked left and scored right to put the Rams up, 2-0, in the 62nd minute.

Nearly 10 minutes later, Haggas struck again with a floater over Burhans' gloves from the right side into the left netting to make it a 3-0 Suffolk contest.

Burhans slips to 0-4 despite a six-save day, while Jon Brodeur earns his second victory and shutout of the season and of his career with a two-save effort.

The Lasers return to the pitch on Monday for a non-conference test at Curry at 4:00 p.m. Suffolk heads out on the road for the first time in two weeks on Wednesday as the Rams visit Mount Ida College at 7:00 p.m.
