Colmenares Headlines GNAC All Conference Selections as Goalkeeper of the Year

NEWTON, Mass. (11/9/15) – Senior Miguel Colmenares (Caracas, Venezuela) has been named the 2015 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Goalkeeper of the Year as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

Colmenares led the league in saves with a grand total of 101, 13 more than his competing stat leaders.  The senior captain ranked fourth in save percentage at .783, capping his career with an averaged .765. Colmenares has stood in between the pipes for 75 games over the past four years, breaking the all-time record for games played in net at Lasell. He has combined for 335 saves overall and has recorded over 6,500 minutes in net. Throughout his career at Lasell, Miguel has been a force in net, stopping point-blank shots from all competitors.

Senior Conor Fitzgerald (Marshfield, Mass.) was named to the all-conference Third Team after registering a trio of goals in all 16 games for the Lasers. In his career, Fitzgerald has netted 28 goals to rank fifth all-time at Lasell. The Marshfield, Mass. native additionally recorded 10 assists for a combined 66 career points.
