WENHAM, Mass. (9/30/14) – The Lasell College men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 non-conference result at Gordon College on Tuesday night. The Lasers dropped to 4-5 on the season while the Fighting Scots improved to 9-1 overall for the 2014 campaign.
Gordon opened the scoring in the 6th minute when Caleb Cole scored on a feed from Evan Crocker to take a 1-0 lead, but Lasell stayed in the match despite being out-shot 5-2 in the opening 45 minutes of play. Joshua Cochran set up Daniel Perez for the Fighting Scots second goal of the match in the 47th minute of play to take a 2-0 lead and Gordon added another goal in the 68th minute to make it a 3-0 score line. Lasell keeper Miguel Colmenares (Caracas, Venezuela) made four saves for Lasell, all in the second half to keep the match close, but Lasell was unable to find any goals in the second half to cut the deficit.
Lasell will return to the pitch on Saturday October 4th for a rematch of the 2013 GNAC championship game when they host Johnson and Wales University at 12:00 p.m.
