STANDISH, Maine (9/13/14) – The Lasell College men's soccer team kicked off their Great Northeast Athletic Conference schedule with a 1-0 victory over St. Joseph's College of Maine on Saturday afternoon at the Monks Westerlea Way Field. Lasell improved to 2-3 on the season and 1-0 in the GNAC while SJC slipped to 1-6 and 0-1 in conference matches.
Conor Fitzgerald (Marshfield, Mass.) scored his fifth goal of the season in the 83rd minute putting Lasell in front of what was an evenly played affair by both teams, propelling the Lasers to victory. Miguel Colmenares (Caracas, Venezuela) made six saves while posting his second clean sheet of the year.
Lasell will return to the pitch on Saturday September 20th when they will host Albertus Magnus College at home, with kick-off slated for 2:30 p.m. at Taylor Field.
