Men's Soccer Facing Lesley in ECAC Quarterfinals

The Lasell College men's soccer team, seeded 2nd in the ECAC New England tournament, will host Lesley University at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday November 13th in the tournament quarterfinals. This will be the Lasers fourth appearance in the ECAC Division III Championship tournament.

The Lasers (15-3-2) are led offensively by senior captain Mike Skelton. Skelton has been named the 2013 GNAC Player of the year for his second consecutive season. He leads the Lasers with 20 goals and in points with 44, setting new single season records in both categories while becoming the program's all-time leading goal scorer this season.

Senior midfielder Cedric Dybaud also received conference honors, being named to the All-GNAC First Team. While starting in all 20 contests this season, Dybaud scored twice and notched two assists. Senior captain Nery Guerra has netted two goals this season and assisted on three others, being named to the GNAC Second Team

Connor Fitzgerald is second on the team with six goals on the season, while junior forward Jose Cabrera has added five goals during the 2013 campaign.

Defensively, the Lasers are led by junior center back and All-GNAC Second Team selection, Manny Alves. In 18 starts this season for the Lasers, Alves played an important role in only allowing six goals in nine conference matches and scoring four goals of his own in the attack. Goalkeeper Miguel Colmenares has posted six shutouts in his 20 appearances, maintaining 1.06 goals against average.

The Lynx of Lesley University (9-8-2) are led by senior NECC Goalkeeper of the Year, Nathan Trucks. Trucks has earned eight of the Lynx's nine wins this season, four being shutouts, maintaining a 0.84 goals against average. Offensively, freshman forward and NECC Rookie of the year Erik Johansen has collected 13 goals this season and two assists, leading the team with 28 total points.

This will be the fourth appearance in the ECAC for both teams. Last season, the Lynx fell to top-seed Roger Williams University in a 2-0 game. The Lasers faced Endicott College in the 2012 quarterfinals, playing the Gulls to a scoreless game before being dispatched in penalty kicks, 3-2.

The last time the Lasers met the Lynx was in the 2008 regular season. Lasell notched an 8-0 win against the Lynx at home.
