PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Junior O'Kyle Corridon (Selden, N.Y.) scored a pair of goals to lead the Johnson & Wales University men's soccer team to a thrilling 2-1 victory against Lasell in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletics Complex on Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats improved to 10-0-3 the best start in school history and 3-0-2 in the league, while Lasell dropped to 9-3-0 overall and 4-1 in GNAC action.

Mike Skelton (Conway, N.H.) scored his 10th goal of the season, catapulting himself further up the Lasell record books. He trail only Zach Gagne '09 in the career points list as Gagne finished his career with 123 points in his four seasons.

Johnson & Wales struck first when junior Kyle Metz (St. James, N.Y.) fed Corridon on a breakaway down the right side of the field.  Corridon then blasted in a shot from 15 yards out to give the Wildcats the 1-0 advantage at the 28:48 mark.  JWU took the one goal lead heading into the locker room at halftime with a 7-6 advantage in shots for the stanza.

The visiting Lasers wasted no time knotting up the score early in the second half when senior Mike Skelton scored on a pass from Nery Guerra (Guatemala City, Guatemala) just 4:37 into the stanza.  After Lasell was whistled for a hand ball in the box at the 60:12 mark, Corridon converted the ensuing penalty kick to put the Wildcats ahead 2-1.  JWU then held on for the 2-1 victory.

JWU junior keeper Ryan Dzierzawski (Oakland, Mich.) had four saves in the victory for the Wildcats while sophomore Miguel Colmenares (Doral, Fla.) tallied three stops for Lasell in the loss.
