Men's Soccer Makes it 10 in a Row with 3-0 Defeat of Suffolk

Newton, Mass. (10/17/12) - The Lasell College men's soccer team won their tenth consecutive match of the season, defeating Great Northeast Athletic Conference foe Suffolk University 3-0 on Wednesday evening. With the win Lasell is now 14-1 on the season and 9-0 in GNAC play, while Suffolk dropped to 6-9-1 overall and 3-5-1 in the league.

Mike Skelton (N0. Conway, N.H.) scored a pair of goals, giving him 14 on the season, and Conor Fitzgerald (Marshfield, Mass.) notched his fifth goal of the season to push Lasell past Suffolk University. Miguel Colmenares (Caracas, Venezuela) earned his 12th win of the season and his third clean sheet making seven saves in net for the Lasers.

The Rams held edges in shots 12-11 and shots on goal 7-5, but were unable to find the back of the net on the night. Suffolk keeper Nicholas Chamma made a pair of saves in the loss.

Fitzgerald put Lasell up 1-0 in the 2nd minute of the match, finishing a breakaway opportunity. Skelton then added unassisted goals in the 22nd and 29th minutes to provide the final margin for Lasell.

The Lasers will look to finish their conference season undefeated and untied for just the second time in the program's history when they travel to St. Joseph's College (Maine) on Saturday October 20th for a 12pm kick-off.
