Newton, Mass-Senior midfielder Shane Vinnicombe of Pomfret Center, Connecticut was selected the Great Northeast Athletic Conference men's soccer Player of the Week this week.
Vinnicombe was honored for the first time this season by the league after scoring two goals against GNAC opposition Albertus Magnus College on Saturday, September 26th. Vinnicombe's first goal tied up the contest, while his second mark of the day secured the 3-1 win over the Falcons.
The duel tallies were the first of the season for Vinnicombe who boosted his total points to six this year as he had already contributed two assists into the mix in the young season.
The veteran midfielder has proven his ability to create plays for the offense, having totaled 33 career points on ten goals and 13 assists over the course of his four years in the Blue and White. Two of his career goals were game winners.
