Sophie Kroeze

Sophie Kroeze is in her second year as an assistant coach for the Lasell University field hockey team in the 2022-23 academic year.

During her first year as a graduate assistant for the Lasers in the fall 2021 season, Lasell finished 6-5 in the GNAC and qualified for the postseason tournament. Kroeze assists the program in day-to-day operations, including practice, game-planning and film breakdown. She also helps with recruiting and is pursuing a master's in sport management.

She was a four-year Division I field hockey student-athlete at the midfield position for UMass Lowell from 2017-20. She was a senior captain and started 46-of-62 games during her career. Kroeze earned a bachelor's degree in liberal arts with concentrations in digital media and sociology in 2021.

Kroeze was a three-year varsity team member on the field hockey team at Plymouth North High School. She served as a senior captain and was a two-time Patriot League All-Star. She also was a star tennis player, earning Patriot League MVP honors as a junior and being named a Patriot League All-Star as a sophomore. Kroeze completed her freshman year of high school in Holland, playing field hockey for LMHC and tennis for the Larense Tennis Club.
