WXC: Lasell closes out season at NCAA Regionals in Boston

Boston, Mass. – Freshman Aly Richard (New Hartford, Conn.) was the top finisher the Lasell University women's cross country team on Saturday, leading the Lasers at the NCAA DIII East Regional Championship, held at Franklin Park in Boston.

Richard crossed the line in 156th place out of 220 runners, finishing the 6K course in 28 minutes, 41 seconds.

Senior Emma Vierling (Monmouth, Maine) was the next finisher for the Lasers, placing 198th, with a time of 32 minutes, 11 seconds. Freshman Molly Cochrane (Raymond, Maine) finished in 206th with a time of 34 minutes, 52 seconds. Seniors Averie Greeley (Ledyard, Conn.) and Sophie Fistori (Dartmouth, Mass.) finished back-to-back at 211 and 212, respectively, with times of 38:01 and 38:19.

The number 14 team in the nation Tufts took the team title with a score for 59. The meet featured six nationally ranked programs. MIT finished as runners-up with a scored of 65, followed by Bates (87), Brandeis (89), and Wellesley (93) to round out the top five. The Lasers finished down in 29th place.

This was the final race of the year for the Lasers.
