WVB: Lasers Defeat Rivier For First Time Since 1999 in Tri-Match Sweep

New Haven, CT - The Lasers Women's Volleyball team swept their tri-match against Albertus Magnus and Rivier on Saturday, moving to 21-4 on the season and 10-3 in GNAC play. The Falcons are now 7-18 and 2-10 while the Raiders are 14-8 and 8-3.

Match One vs Albertus Magnus

After dropping the first set 25-23, the Lasers came back with a vengence in the next three sets, winning them 25-15, 25-12, and 25-9, taking care of business easily. Kyra Paris had 14 kills to lead the team, followed by Juliana Medini (8), Tori Scambray (7), and McKenna McCool (7).  Saige Cambonga-Meyers set most of those up with 26 set assists, followed by Sydney Katz with 12. Maddie Caro returned after a one match absense with 12 digs..

Match Two vs Rivier

Entering today's match, Lasell had been 1-23 all time vs Rivier. That all changed on Saturday, as the Lasers swept the Raiders 25-22, 25-19, 25-15. The Lasers made it look easy, as McCool had nine digs to lead the team. Emily VanHouten and Scambray each had six kills. It was Katz and Cambonga-Meyers in the middle again with 10 and eight set assists respectively. Caro once again led the way with 10 digs.

Up Next - The Lasers will play their last home match of the season on Thursday when they host Salem State at 7pm.
