WVB: #3 Lasers eliminated by #2 Wildcats; ends remarkable season at 19-13

Newton, Mass. - The Lasell Women's Volleyball team seen their season end at the hands of the Wildcats of Johnson & Wales Thursday night in a GNAC Semifinals match.

How it happened: The first set started out very strong with both teams having clear intentions that they wanted to make it to the final game. Both teams traded blows but at the midway point, the Wildcats made two separate 5-0 runs to pull away and snag the first set. In set 2, it was all Lasell as they dominated from the first serve all the way to the last. They breezed past JWU to win the set 25-9. Set 3, however, was all Johnson & Wales as they took advantage straight out of the gate and would not look back to take a 2-1 set lead. In the final set, it was close early on as it could've went to either team. Although Lasell would try to fight back and keep their season alive, Johnson & Wales would gradually get past the Lasers and defeat them 3-1, thus ending their season. Camila Lopez was named to the all-tournament team.

The Lasers finish their season 19-13 overall and 11-3 in GNAC play. Meanwhile, the Wildcats will advance to the GNAC championship game where they will take on Simmons University on Saturday.
