NEWTON, MA—To top off a great week for Alexis Chappell (Springfield, MA) in women's volleyball play, the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) rewarded her with the Rookie of the Week honor.

Chappell recorded 31 kills, 13 digs, and two blocks this week over the course of four matches and 12 sets.  She put down 12 kills against local GNAC rivals Mount Ida and then added 14 more between two GNAC matches against Rivier and Saint Joseph College of Connecticut.

So far this season, Chappell has tallied 161 kills, 111 digs, 35 blocks, and 11 service aces.  She averages 1.77  kills per set and 1.22 digs per set.  She is third on the team in total kills and blocks.
