    Newton, Mass.—Danielle Drapeau (Biddeford, ME) produced 17 kills for the Lasell College Lasers as they ran away with a 3-0 victory over Suffolk University in women’s volleyball action on Tuesday evening. The Lasers finished the night with a 10-21 overall record and a 5-6 GNAC record, while Suffolk drops to 6-23 overall and 3-9 in the conference.

    Boston, Mass.—Lasell’s womens’ volleyball team split over the weekend in a GNAC tri-match with Simmons College and St. Joseph’s College of Connecticut, hosted by the Sharks. Lasell swept St. Joseph’s 3-0 then fell in four to Simmons, leaving their overall record at 9-21.

    Newton, Mass.- In a well-matched women’s volleyball contest tonight in the Lasell College Athletic Center, the Lasers suited up to face the Mount Ida Mustangs in Great Northeast Athletic Conference competition. Though the teams were comparable in many aspects, the Mustangs came out on top winning three out of the four close sets.

    Newton, Mass.— Lasell College hosted a women’s volleyball tri-match today with two top Great Northeast Athletic Conference opponents. Johnson & Wales University swept the tri-match, going home with a 7-1 conference record, while Emmanuel College split on the day, finishing with an 8-1 league slate. Lasell dropped both matches to the tough conference rivals, ending the day with a 3-4 conference mark.

The Lasers won easily by scores of 25-10, 25-19, and 25-15. With the win, Lasell’s record improves to 7-17, while Wentworth stands at 9-12 overall.

Elizabeth Stickley (Mashpee, Mass.) and Matthew Scully (Watertown, Conn.) were selected for the second week in a row as Goalkeeper and Rookie of the Week respectively, while Meghan Crozier (Ballston Spa, NY) and Christina Annicelli (North Easton, Mass.) were chosen as women's volleyball Player of the Week and cross country Rookie of the Week respectively.
  • Lasers Lose a 3-1 Match with Anchorwomen

    Providence, RI—Lasell College stole one game away from New England powerhouse Rhode Island College on Tuesday evening in a four-set women’s volleyball match, at The Murray Center. The Anchorwomen dictated the first two sets easily (25-14, 25-17) before the Lasers capitalized in the third for a 25-21 win. Rhode Island came back in full force in the final set, winning 25-18, for the match.
  • Crozier Honored as All-Tournament at Union Invitational

    Schenectady, NY—Lasell’s sophomore setter, Meghan Crozier (Ballston Spa, NY) was selected to the Union College Invitational All-Tournament team after four non-conference women’s volleyball matches this weekend. The Lasers played well against some tough New York competition despite going 0-4 on the weekend.

Senior captain Amanda Major (Southbury, Conn.) led Lasell defensively with a stellar 38 dig performance while freshman middle Elizabeth Nichols (Southington, Conn.) was a force at the net with a team-best 12 kills.

Eleni Tsaparakis (Norwalk, Conn.) registered a game-best 18 kills throughout the four sets for the Corsairs, while Amanda Major (Southbury, Conn.) picked up a notable 31 digs in the contest for Lasell.
