NEW LONDON, N.H. - Riley Silvia and Sinclair Samuels placed first overall in the discus and shot put, respectively, for the Lasell University women's track & field team during the 2022 GNAC Outdoor Championships Sunday at Colby-Sawyer.

Silvia set a personal record in the discus with a mark of 32.21 meters, while also tallying a career-best distance of 9.52 in the shot put, earning a fifth-place finish in the event. Samuels tallied a mark of 10.23 during the shot put and recorded a distance of 14.34 in the javelin. Emmanuel won the meet with 244 points. The Lasers set four personal records and tallied three season-best performances in individual events.

"This meet had so much energy and I feel each of the athletes matched it," said Silvia. "We had personal records left and right all day, which is exactly what we want to see. There was encouragement every corner you turned, no matter what event was going on or who was competing. This team dynamic is very unique and I feel as though that attributed to much of the success today. Regardless of results, I am so proud of everyone for giving it their all and leaving everything out on both the track and fields."

Elise Stanbury tallied a season-best mark of 9.33 and grabbed sixth-place honors during the shot put. Emily Hong was superb in the 100 (14.26) and 200 meters (29.57), setting season-best times in both events. Chante Gregory and Taylor Sprague recorded individual records in the 100 meter-dash (16.01) and shot put (9.14), respectively.

Additionally, Stanbury finished seventh in the discus (28.11), while also competing in the hammer (24.07). Caitlyn Geary took her talents to the discus (23.77) and shot put (7.30). Sprague suited up for the discus (17.96).

Hanna Babek was the Lasers' first-place finisher in the 100 (14.00) and 200 meters (28.89). Sarah Milne was the only Lasell runner to compete in the 400 meters, as she clocked a time of 1:10.07.

Averie Greeley competed in the 1,500 (7:40.57) and 5,000 meters (29:31.20). Madison Nerich performed well for the Lasers in the hammer (22.54) and shot put (7.82). Sophia Franzik was Lasell's top-performer in the javelin, grabbing sixth-place recognition with a distance of 22.30.

Milne, Greeley, Hong and Babek competed as a unit in the 4x100 relay, crossing the finishing line in a time of 58.70.
